Welcome...
Since 1953 the Chamber of Commerce has been dedicated to businesses in Marion County.
Helping new businesses get started
or helping existing businesses grow, the Chamber has provided valued
service. As Marion County has changed so has the Chamber. In
1953 business growth and well being was the
primary focus. Now the Chamber's focus includes education, economic development and
taking an active role
in our County's political future.
We Need Your Help!
Marion County School BondOn May 13, 2008 voters in Marion County will go to the polls and have an opportunity to vote for the upcoming school
bond. The proposed bond will replace the current East Fairmont Junior High with a new East Fairmont Middle School, construct 9 new
gymnasiums at elementary schools across the County, renovate both North Marion and Fairmont Senior High Schools, along with various
other additions and/or renovations.
The Marion County Chamber of Commerce supports the efforts of the bond committee and the Board of Education and hopes
that all residents and businesses take the time to educate themselves on the positive economic outcomes that result from new and upgraded
school facilities.
The average cost to the Marion County tax payer will be an additional $5.05 per month based on the most current census data on average household income. The Chamber encourages you to visit www.investinmarioncowv.com to view graphic illustrations of the proposed additions/changes and to access a calculator that will calculate the exact cost for each business and/or homeowner based on the assessed value of their property.
